New email worm "Bagle" on the loose
A new Internet worm has been noted to be spreading
fast throughout the internet, with home users at
greatest risk.
The 'Bagle' or 'Beagle' worm arrives as an e-mail with
the subject 'hi' and the word 'test' in the message
body. If the accompanying attachment is executed, the
worm attempts to send itself to all e-mail addresses
listed in the user's address book.
An Associated Press report also quoted Mr David Perry,
spokesman for anti-virus software firm Trend Micro
Inc, as saying ,"Sometimes the attachment is designed
to look like a Microsoft calculator."
The virus is known to affect only machines running on
Microsoft Windows operating systems.
New Bagle.BB virusworm attacks and disables antivirus.
