Love Actually - Movie Reviews
It`s British, it`s heartwarming and funny and it slowly eases you up to the idea that
Christmas is coming.
The story runs along several threads. Hugh Grant stars as a British Prime Minister who fall in love with his coffee girl,
Emma Thompson as the wife whose husband is tempted by his seductress of a secretary. Her friend and confidante, played by Liam Neeson, is widowed
and has to figure out how to help his stepson land his dream girl, while getting hooked up with Claudia Schiffer himself. Keira Knightley
plays a newly married bride who finds out her husband`s best friend has been admiring her secretly, Laura Linney plays a secretary who has a crush on her firm`s designer and Colin Firth is an author who
finds his wife cheating on him and heads out to his cottage in the French countryside, only to .. surprise ! .. find love there.
If you haven`t figured it out already, the central theme is love. Even though the plot is quite strung together as tight as it should,
it moves along at a decent pace, drawing its fair share of laughs and tears alternately. Some people end up together, some don`t make it, but most of them end up happy in this feel-good movie.
Definitely worth a watch with a couple of friends and the love of your life.
