No single program will be able to detect all the viruses, but most of the reliable ones should be able to detect and eliminate at least 80 % of known viruses. At times, new viral outbreaks will catch these companies by surprise and they make take anywhere from a few hours to a few days to release a patch, so keep your virus definitions updated regularly, at least weekly.
